India Lifts The Compaq Cup' 09

Guided by a marvelous game show by Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh, Team India defeated sri Lanka by 46-runs in the tri-series final to lift the Compaq Cup . Chasing an improbable total of 319/5 set by India, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 273 in 46.4 overs.

Tendulkar scored a phenomenal innings of 138 runs (133 balls) before being wrong footed while trying a reverse sweep of Lanka’s mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis. Tendulkar hit Mendis out of the park for a huge six before being dismissed.

The Indian turbanator Harbhajan Singh was mixing up everything he could do with his deliveries and was successful in getting 5 wickets with eco. rate of 5.4 .

The most shocking event of the match , though benifitial for India was the dismissal of Sangakara . As he was facing a full toss bowl from R.P. Singh , bat slipped from his hands and hit the stumps. Sangakara at that instant could not realised that he had just gifted his wicket to the opponents in such a crucial match in a critical situation.
Well Sangakara's gift was a moment of joy for Indians.

At last We Won!!!!!! yes, We Won The Compaq Cup '09

BADSHAHAT

Just less than 24 hrs of Badshahat!!!!!!!

Less than 24 hours after India had ascended to the position of top ODI team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s boys were brought crashing down to earth by a disciplined Sri Lankan unit who inflicted a humiliating 139 run defeat on their fancied opponents.

The R Premadsa Stadium was at its fastest , but the Indians somehow forgot how to pull the bat as they were humiliated by their biggest defeat of 139 runs which is their biggest in the country in terms of runs.

Starting from the toss it was Sri Lanka who was leading the game all the way.Their openers came out and started firing runs from their bat.
J'Surya (96) and Kandamby(96*) were the stars of Sri lankan batting.

In Indian bowling only one man , Harbhajan Singh could do good for the team with stats of 1/37 in 10 overs.

When Indian batsmen came to the ground they had a total of 307 to chase but neither of them one could do something to put Lankan bowlers under pressure though Rahul Dravid scored a struggling 47.

M S Dhoni was not able to play a 'Captain's knock' to at least give a fight to the opponents.
India's batting was finished at the score of just 168.

'Man of the Match' was Angelo Mathews who gobbled 6 wickets giving 20 runs in 6 overs.

Dhoni admitted " It was the worst day for us.Right from toss nothing went right for us ".

WELL LETS hope India could win the final of Compaq Cup 2009 and regains its BADSHAHAT in Cricket.
